What happens during the interview?
We use a values-based interview process to ensure that our future nurses have the qualities and behaviors in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), the National Health Service (NHS) and the University of Stirling. We are hiring.
The interview will consist of three sets of questions, two of which will be based on scenarios given during the interview. There are no right or wrong answers to these questions. These questions are designed to help us get to know you and explore your values.
We understand that when a Teams session starts, the first few minutes may be tense, and we spend a lot of time helping customers get ‘acquainted’ to make sure everything is working properly. Helpful. We will check your identification before we begin the interview questions. Once the interview questions begin, you will have a total of 12 minutes to discuss your answers to the questions (4 minutes per set of questions). The interviewer will ensure that time limits are adhered to equally by all interviewees. Don’t worry if we have to stop you before you finish answering.
If you apply for more than one nursing course, you will only need to attend one interview.
If you have applied for the nursing course and the paramedical science course and your application for the paramedical science course progresses to the second stage, we will send you separate interview instructions.
What happens after the interview?
If you apply via UCAS, a decision on your application will be sent to the UCAS Hub in due course. This could take until near mid-May as we process all applications. If you applied directly, you will see this in your applicant portal. Due to the large number of applicants, we are unable to respond.
All nursing students must pass a criminal background check and occupational health examination before admission. Applicants who pass the interview stage will receive relevant information at a later date.
