As Wrexham AFC won 4-0 against Accrington Stanley at STōK Cae Ras, co-chairman Rob McElhenney jumped in to participate in Paul Mullin’s written report and post-match interviews with the media.
McElhenney said of Mullin, the Red Dragons’ hat-trick hero.
“Paul’s always like this, every once in a while I want him to tell me how great he is, and it’s always the same answer week after week: ‘I just put in shifts, I just do my job.’ Then I’ll go home to my family.”
McElhenney, who was able to witness Wrexham’s second biggest league win of the season, admitted:
“What a beautiful sport. If you work hard like Paul, good things will happen.
“The man you see in this documentary is just who he is. He has been an inspiration to millions of people around the world for so many different reasons. I love that he is a part of this organization. I’m proud – and not just because he gets a hat-trick every once in a while!”
Looking back on the final preparations for the league game in which the Red Dragons will be fighting for promotion, he said the following. “The last two months of the season are exciting. A lot of those games are going to be very important, so I’m going to be right back.”
The Wrexham co-chairman was also able to see the fourth wall temporary cop in action and added: The action is even more lively.
“Most importantly, we are making tickets available to an additional 2,300 people, as tickets are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain.
“The bigger plan, as everyone knows, is to build a bigger stand and eventually an even bigger stand to accommodate everyone in Wrexham. The more games we play for this club, the bigger this club will become.”
