Arceri “Ali” Pulido, a 31-year-old professional chef from San Diego, Calif., was eliminated in 14th place on Thursday’s episode of “Next Level Chef.”Despite the team Nisha Arrington Ali, who cooks in the top kitchen, struggled with the ‘curry in a hurry’ challenge. “Curries are usually not in a hurry,” she tells Gold Derby Senior Editor denton davidson. Ali explained that being a professional chef may actually have been a disadvantage in this particular challenge, where the cooks had only 30 minutes to prepare the food. “It takes away the artistry,” she says. “I cook very passionately. I like to do things the right way the first time. When I say, ‘Let’s do something together,’ I go against the grain.” It’s not my nature.

Ali faced off against home cook after her curry dish placed in the bottom two lauren smith from the team Richard Brace. Ali was tasked with making a delicious butter chicken, but she was once again racing against her time and before she knew it, she had been eliminated from the contest. “I was definitely shocked,” she admits. “I thought I had it in the bag, but Lauren is such a great competitor. I was really happy to get back to her, especially. She and I are both self-taught. I don’t feel too sad about that.” did.”
