cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation Wil Wheaton (Wesley Crusher), who won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the recent Saturn Awards, is also an integral part of modern Star Trek as host of the official Paramount+ Star Trek aftershow. ready room, I was there with my cast mates. TrekMovie spoke to him about reprising his role as Wesley. Star Trek: Lower Decks Hopes for Trek return and recording last season ready room for the final season of Star Trek: Discovery.
When we last spoke, how much did you say you wanted to move up? lower deckcongratulations on the anime adaptation.
thank you. It was a really fun cameo. It was really ridiculous.
I know you had your own suggestions. [showrunner] microphone [McMahan], but what did you think about returning to Academy Wesley? Did you have to reconsider playing that early Wesley?
No, what I really enjoyed was leaning into the humor. lower deck And I lean into a kind of stylized surrealism when I meet Wesley at the Academy for the first time in almost 30 years. And McMahan directed me and we kept making him squeamier and dumber and nerdier. And I kept trying all these crazy, ridiculous things. We did so many stupid things that I can’t even remember them all, but it was such a fun day.It was a really fun moment to tie me up next generation and the inspirational episode “Lower Decks.” [Star Trek: Lower Decks] Everyone gets back together. My favorite thing about canon is that Wesley and Mariner were together at the Academy. So Wesley and Mariner have some sort of friendship, or at least knowledge of each other, that ends up being backed up in a lot of my fanfiction.

There’s still a “head canon” that considers Wesley a “Time Lord.” Are you still hoping for Wesley the Traveler? lower deck Or maybe a live-action reunion with his TNG co-stars?
I’ve learned to never say no, and to never get too eager to make something happen. That being said, anyone who knows anything about me will know how much Star Trek means to me. They know how much the actor, the series, and the universe mean to me. I’m really done with being an actor, and I love being a writer, and I love being a host and an audiobook narrator, but Star Trek is definitely what I want to go to work for. It’s given me so much that now I’m grateful for it and accepting it and loving it, knowing that I’m really a part of this thing and this is my way back to it in a way. It’s going to be a great opportunity that I don’t think anyone expected.

You’re in it again now, as you already are ready room for discovery Have you finished recording season 5 yet?
Yes, we are filming ready room for discoveries It’s the final season now. It’s almost over. It was about halfway finished. It’s a great season. You shouldn’t say anything more because you’ll accidentally mess something up, accidentally break your NDA, and accidentally get fined $1 million.
But do you like season 5? Have you seen it all?
I have [seen it all] And I really love it.
As for the question, genius nothing in season 2 of ready room Is it because it’s on Netflix now?
I don’t know. I’m not part of the decision-making chain for that.I absolutely love it Star Trek: Prodigy. This is how I introduced my godson to Star Trek. So if there’s anything we can do, ready room I actually really like it because you can have audience members ask questions directly to the people sitting on the couch.
