A male Reddit user flushed his “great job opportunity” down the drain after clogging the toilet in his office’s unisex bathroom.
The original poster (OP) shared how he lost his job before it even started in a Feb. 12 post to Reddit.
“I almost got a job offer from my last interview, and I just joined the company to fill out the onboarding paperwork,” he wrote.
“I was very happy that the onboarding question was about the accommodations I would like for this job.”
Unfortunately, things started going downhill after the employee drank the office coffee.
“Everything was going well until I was offered coffee earlier and of course I accepted, because I love free things,” he writes.
“This coffee was so good that I drank it all down in no time. So, of course coffee has a similar effect to coffee, and before I knew it, I had to use the bathroom.”
The man admitted he was able to “let it all out” that morning and had “an excess amount” in his system.
“It took me a lot of toilet paper to clean my butt too,” he wrote.
He washed his hands and admired the “really nice bathroom” before returning to his desk to finish his paperwork.
Things seemed to get worse as the forgetful man sadly didn’t remember to flush the toilet.
When the female employee entered the toilet, she found OP’s excrement inside the toilet.
“When I looked at the door, I heard her trying to flush the toilet. But I didn’t hear the toilet bowl clearing. I only heard the toilet bowl filling up. “Water,” he wrote.
The woman was “unhappy” and told her boss what she had discovered in the bathroom.
“I was the only one in the building, so of course everyone knew it was me,” OP writes.
“I tried to pretend I was on the computer the whole time, but they never yelled at me or messed with anything.”
The employee managed to find the plunger, but according to the OP, “a large amount of toilet water fell onto the bathroom floor.”
After the man finished writing the document, he gave it to his boss, who was not very friendly towards him.
“I completed the paperwork, but when I tried to follow up, I never heard back,” the nearly new employee wrote.
He has since blamed it on “coffee” and being distracted by a nice bathroom with “sliding oak doors”.
Other Reddit users also seemed to be dissing him, with one person asking if he was an “animal” because he pooped during a job interview.
“Who forgets to pass it off as ***? Especially when trying to get hired for that job lol,” a Reddit user commented.
“I wouldn’t hire you either. If you can’t remember to flush your bowels, I can’t even imagine how forgetful you’ll be at work.”
Other commenters wrote that they wouldn’t hire him and called him an “idiot” for forgetting.
A few users believe his “***** story” is not true, but the OP has repeatedly written that it is true.
Another user said the incident was not the OP’s fault, but the employer’s fault for “not having a plunger.”
