Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja has denied any tension in the relationship between his fathers and called senior Jadeja’s interview with Popular Daily nonsense and scripted. Jadeja’s father Anilj Singh said in a startling claim that problems started arising in their relationship after the cricketer married Ribaba in April 2016.
Jadeja shared a post on his social media handles asking people not to trust “scripted interviews”. The Indian all-rounder also said that attempts were being made to tarnish the reputation of him and the wife of the Gujarat Congress MP. He hails from Jamnagar North Assembly constituency.
“Let’s ignore what was said in the scripted interview,” Jadeja wrote on Friday, February 9.
“What was mentioned in the alleged interview with Divya Bhaskar is meaningless and false. It is an unsolicited comment that I deny. Any attempt to tarnish the image of my wife is inappropriate and condemns I also have a lot of things I want to say, but it’s better not to reveal them in public.”
“There is only hatred”
In an interview with Divya Bhaskar, Jadeja’s father alleged that Ribaba was creating a rift in the family. He also said there was nothing but hatred between the two families.
“He is my son and it warms my heart. I wish I had never married him. I wish he had never become a cricketer. Then we wouldn’t have gone through this. We could have done without it,” Jadeja’s father said.
“Within three months of marriage, she told me that everything should be transferred to her name. She created a rift in our family. She didn’t want a family and wanted to live an independent life. I may be wrong and Nainava (Ravindra’s) sister) may be wrong, but why can’t all 50 members of our family be wrong? It has nothing to do with anyone, there is only hatred.”
Jadeja is currently recovering from a hamstring injury and will miss India’s second Test against England coach Ben Stokes in Visakhapatnam.southpaw Injured in the Hyderabad TestLater, Sourav Kumar and Washington Sundar replaced him in the Vizag team.
It remains to be seen whether Jadeja recovers in time and is selected in India’s squad for the final three Tests to be played in Rajkot, Ranchi and Dharamsala.
