Charles Radtke continues to find new ways to push his audience’s buttons.
Fresh off his highlight-reel knockout of Gilbert Urbina at UFC Vegas 85, Radke used his post-fight presser time with his usual mix of reflection and bravado. Then he took things in a completely different direction.
“With a knockout like that, people will want to see more of you and talk about it,” a reporter asked at UFC APEX. “How soon can I put you back in that cage? Is there anyone you’d like to match with?”
“How much money did you get?” Radtke answered. “That’s it. These interviews are free. You need to get paid. Let’s go.”
“Next time…” Radtke added.
As it turned out, the answer was…no one. After a long silence, Radke bid farewell to his exorbitant demands.
“Good,” the UFC welterweight declared as he walked away.
Despite dropping at least one expletive after his win at UFC Vegas 85, Radtke had a slightly better attitude in his post-win interview, editing out the profanity a bit. The 33-year-old fighter has publicly apologized for his last post-fight interview after his UFC 293 victory, in which he went on a profane rant that included a homophobic slur.
Radtke is currently 2-0 in the Octagon, winning his last six fights. But he goes above and beyond the rest in that he casts himself as a brash heel who is quick to voice any grievances.
