It’s been a strange few weeks for food in London, with one of Brick Lane’s most popular bagel shops unexpectedly closing its doors. I hope it’s not good. But when one door closes, another opens and south London’s Silk Road returns from his seven-month hiatus to once again deliver us lamb skewers. We couldn’t anger the gods as much as we thought.

1. Classy cocktail bar

In the most Hackney Wick way, Unlock is more than just a pizza restaurant and cocktail bar, it’s also an art gathering space. Unlock, the first London project by Italian brothers Ariana and Giovanni Izzo, offers traditional, artisanal dishes ranging from simple margherita to more luxurious truffle cream, mortadella, burrata and hazelnut crumb pizzas. Serving Neapolitan pizza. There’s a set menu of slices and cocktails, and new artwork from local and Italian creators is introduced every few months. Note the terrace overlooking the canal. It is expected to be installed by summer.

3. Cheesy collaboration
Fondue Thursdays at The Cheese Bar and The Cheese Barge are fast becoming a London specialty, with all kinds of talented local chefs coming in to offer their own interpretations of the ultimate dip. March’s special guests are shaping up to be the most interesting of them all. This is Shuko Odo from Takano. london’s hottest chef – Bring in the pickle ladles and tempura to force fondue through the lens of Japanese cuisine. It will be distributed every Thursday in March.

4. The city’s new terrace
A popular Japanese-Mexican fusion joint, Los Mochis has spread its wings from Notting Hill to Suitland, aka the City of London. It will be quite a change from the back streets of a cozy residential area in West London to the streets of London. It’s on the roof of the 9th floor of Broadgate at 100 Liverpool Street. With a bar, two private dining rooms, and an expansive 3,000-square-foot outdoor terrace, this restaurant is sure to be a great treat. Executive Chef Leonard Taniag – last seen at restaurant serving proper centerpieces Juno omakase – Prepare menu items like DIY King Crab Legs and Grade 5 Wagyu Tomahawk Steak Tacos.

5. All Star Chef Series
The Pem, Westminster
It’s International Women’s Day, but let’s make it International Women’s Month. Chef Sally Abe is extending the celebration at her signature restaurant, The Pem, with four special dinners throughout March. Romy Gill (March 1), Great British Bake Off Champion Candice Brown (March 7), TikTok’s Spud Queen Poppy O’Toole (March 15), App City’s Chantelle All of our special guests, including Nicholson (March 22), will create a special menu. £85 per person.Gill’s kick-off British and Indian feast includes: Mangolorian spiced crab crumpets with tamarind chutney and roasted chops, roasted fallow deer shoulder with celery puree, kulcha bread and chilli turnip tops.

6. Smoky Eastern Mediterranean diner
Carmel, an offshoot of the sublime smokehouse Berber & Q’s Queens Park, has launched its own offshoot. Carmel 2:0 features 95 covers featuring hearty foods from across the Eastern Mediterranean, such as monkfish crudo with sheep yoghurt, lamb tartare with amba, pickled cucumber, challah and za’atar. focused. Mains are shared plates (whole sea bream with warm honey, lemon butter and fennel, or hanger steak with bone marrow, charred onions and sour cherry molasses), and flatbreads and pastas are also available. These Days opened last year and offers private label spritzes, aperitifs and hearty drinks. Starting March 14, their kitchen, designed by former Culpepper chef Greg Weaver, will finally be up and running, serving small plates with Asian influences. Enjoy popcorn cockles, cured trout with rhubarb ponzu, veal escalopes with sauerkraut, and celeriac with miso and radish. As with the great Forza Wine before, you can order the entire menu. 85 lbs.
