Great Britain secured a European spot for the Paris Olympics on the final day of the Gold Fleet race, with the top two GBR teams qualifying for the 2024 World Championship medal race on Sunday.
Vita Heathcote and Chris Grube will go into the medal race in second place, nine points behind new leaders Jordi Zammer and Nora Brugman (Spain) (11, 6).
Japan’s long-time leaders Tetsuya Isozaki and Yurie Sekihard have had their worst days (16th and 12th) and are currently in third place, five points behind Heathcote and Groove.
German pair Simon Disch and Anna Markfort (15 and 17) are in fourth place, three points off the podium.
The final medal race is very close, with Zammer and Brugmann having a nine-point advantage, but the podium spot looks very open.
Israel’s Nitai Hasson and Noah Lasry (5, 4) finished fifth, while France’s Camille Lecointre and Jeremy Mion (4, 10) finished sixth, and will be battling for a podium spot.
Britain’s Martin Wrigley and Bethine Harris (8th, 14th) placed ninth with 89 points.
