A place where style, culture, innovation and ingenuity collide, it’s no wonder London Fashion Week is so popular. That trend has continued for the past 40 years. If you look beneath its fashionable façade, it not only serves as a global showcase for talent, but also a place where talent is nurtured and supported.
To celebrate the 40th anniversary, there was of course plenty of runway from BFC NEWGEN winners and iconic British luxury brand Burberry, as well as popular and emerging designers such as Emilia Wickstead, Erdem and JW Anderson . JW Anderson, Simone Rocha, Erdem, Roksanda, 16 Arlington, David Koma and Ahluwalia went from strength to strength. Labrum mobilized the entire team for the finale, Emilia Wickstead’s show reflected her own cool, understated and chic style, and Richard Quinn’s show was a breathtaking performance. London Fashion Week x 1664 Blanc
We started by announcing 1664 Blanc as the Principal Partner of the Year for London Fashion Week. This means we can continue to support our designers, and we kicked off the celebrations with an LFW opening party and a stunning performance by Grace Carter. This is a fun and appropriate way to mark the beginning of a great partnership.
“Love Letter to London” femi coleoso
On Valentine’s Day, we dropped a ‘Love Letter to London’. This is a heartfelt message written on behalf of LFW by the incredibly talented Femi Koleoso of the Mercury Prize winning band Ezra Collective, and performed by a selection of creatives who reflect their love for London. it was done.
LFW lights up London
LFW has taken over the city once again! We launched a disruptive flyposter campaign across London featuring images from BFC NEWGEN designers, turning major landmarks such as the London Eye, Royal Opera House and Southbank green for the campaign.
Afternoon Tea at 10 Downing Street
We ended the week with afternoon tea at 10 Downing Street to raise Government support for the creative industries. My call to action for the return of duty-free shopping there was met with respectful applause. We continue to advocate for supporting the industry at every event. can!

The opening of the London Stock Exchange is a first for all of us and a reminder of the huge economic impact that the UK’s fashion and creative industries have on London, the City and the wider world. Ta.

Chinese new year with self-portrait
It was so much fun celebrating Chinese New Year in Chinatown with friends, surrounded by delicious food, and fun hancheng (self-portraits). We sang and danced karaoke until early morning. Would you believe me if I told you that I “sang” “Total Eclipse” with Wolfgang Tillmans? Note the inverted commas around sing. My voice is not my strong suit.
Put creativity first
Needless to say, it was a great start to our 40th anniversary. February has been a remarkable month, with a packed schedule and setting the tone for a year of big celebrations ahead. I hope every audience member gets to see incredible creativity, creativity without guardrails, creativity like no other. And with that creativity comes a lot of fun and an opportunity to remember why we love the fashion industry so much.
