A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 66-year-old man was stabbed to death in a north London apartment.
At 7.28pm on Friday, officers were called to a man with serious injuries in the common area of a flat in Lockhart Close, Enfield.
An ambulance rushed to the scene, but the man died at the scene, and a murder investigation was launched.
According to the Metropolitan Police, a 30-year-old woman has been arrested and is being held at a north London police station.
As part of the investigation, detectives conducted door-to-door searches and forensic examinations of the scene over the weekend.
The force is currently keen to speak to anyone with a dashboard camera who was driving in Lockhart Close, Derby Road, Lincoln Road or the surrounding area on the night of the murder.
Detective Chief Inspector Laura Nelson, who is leading the investigation, said: “While an arrest has been made, it is important that anyone with information about what happened on Friday night comes forward and tells us.”
“Also, if you have a dashboard camera that was seen driving in Lockhart Close, Derby Road, Lincoln Road, or the surrounding areas, please contact us immediately.”
The deceased have not been formally identified and a post-mortem examination has not yet been scheduled.
DCI Nelson added: “I would like to thank local residents who assisted our officers last night and this morning as the investigation began.”
“They will continue to have police forces operating in the area, including forensic officers and other specialists, who will assist with this painstaking murder investigation.”
