They’re back! YG Entertainment announced that 2NE1 is officially reuniting on social media on Sunday (July 21) with the message, “Welcome back.” The poster features all four members.
Additionally, YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk revealed in a video that the popular K-pop girl group will hold several shows to celebrate their 15th anniversary. Yang explained that 2NE1’s tour will kick off in Seoul, South Korea in October before heading to Osaka, Japan in November and Tokyo, Japan in December. He revealed that the tour will continue throughout 2025, but further stops have yet to be revealed.
Since rocketing to popularity with their 2009 debut single “Fire” and gaining worldwide recognition with their feisty girl power anthem “I’m the Best,” 2NE1, comprised of Park Bom, Sandara Park, CL, and Minzy, have become one of K-pop’s most iconic girl groups. The group disbanded in 2016 after a year-long hiatus and Minzy’s departure. They released a fitting final song, “Goodbye,” in 2017. In 2022, CL reunited the group for Coachella, marking the first time the girls have performed onstage together since 2015.
Throughout their career, 2NE1 has had 19 hit songs appear on the World Digital Songs chart, three albums appear in the top 10 of the World Albums chart, and one album appear on the Billboard 200 chart.
