Toprak Razgatlioglu took another confident victory at the Donington Park WorldSBK Superpole Race, extending his winning streak to six.
Nicolò Bulega took the holeshot at the first corner and held the lead using the soft rear tyre, but on the third of 10 laps he prevented Razgatlioglu (on the hard tyre) from sliding up the inside of the Ducati at the Melbourne Hairpin.
Bulega held on to second place until the chequered flag, while Jonathan Rea was ecstatic to take third place and secure Yamaha’s long-awaited first podium finish.
Ray rocketed from eighth to fourth at Turn 1, quickly passed Sam Lowes at the Old Hairpin and ran confidently in third place for the rest of the race.
The battle for fourth place became even more fierce, with Scott Redding (BMW) ultimately beating Saturday’s second-placed Alex Lowes (Kawasaki).
Reigning champion Alvaro Bautista recovered from 11th to 6th place.
