Eleven people were taken to hospital after firefighters descended on a terraced house converted into flats after a massive fire broke out in west London.
London Fire Brigades rushed to extinguish a blaze at Emperor’s Gate in South Kensington as an inferno erupted in the five-storey building around midnight.
As of around 2:20 a.m., some parts of the building were still on fire, and five people who were on the first, second, and fourth floors of the building were rescued.
Eleven people were rushed to hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation.

A fire broke out and about 15 people left the building before firefighters arrived.
The two were rescued by rescue workers using a ladder from their second-floor apartment.
Two other people were rescued by crews from a fourth-floor apartment using a turntable ladder.
One resident was rescued from a first-floor apartment by crews using a short extension ladder.

Firefighters were dispatched at 12:31 a.m.
The fire was finally extinguished by 4:40 a.m.
Firefighters from Kensington, Fulham, Battersea, Hammersmith, Chelsea, North Kensington and surrounding fire stations were all in attendance.
“The fire spread from the first floor of the property to the top floor and rooftop,” Chief Steve Collins said.

“Crews worked diligently to contain the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings.
“Motorists are advised to avoid the area as the road is closed and is likely to remain in place until the morning rush hour.
“However, rail services are unaffected and will run as normal.”
London Fire Brigade is still investigating the cause of the fire.
