Exclusive footage from GB News shows a large number of police officers gathering outside a house in south-east London and shooting a man “armed with a crossbow”.
Reports said the man, believed to be in his 30s, was in possession of weapons including a crossbow and was threatening to harm residents at an address in Southwark, London.

A statement from the Metropolitan Police said: “Local police officers attended and attempted to speak to the man, but he received threats and armed officers were called and immediately attended the scene.”
“The man entered the property and a police weapon was fired.

“Officers and paramedics from London Ambulance Service provided immediate first aid but unfortunately the man died at the scene.”
Footage collected by GB News shows three police cars arriving at the scene and “30 to 40 officers” patrolling the area.
Following the incident, they set up a cordon and were seen entering the premises.
Two people at the Bywater Place home suffered minor injuries, police said.
Locals said there were about 30 to 40 police officers in the area.

As is customary in cases of fatal police shootings, an investigation was launched by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
Detective Chief Inspector Seb Adjei-Addo said: “Our thoughts are with all those affected by this incident.
“We understand that local residents are concerned by the events that occurred this morning. We fully support the IOPC investigation to establish the full circumstances of what happened.”
An IOPC spokesperson said: “This morning we launched an independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting of a man by the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) in Southwark, south London.”
“Following the incident, which occurred shortly before 5am, we were notified by the MPS and at approximately 6:40am they announced they were launching an independent investigation.
“We have dispatched investigators to the scene to begin collecting evidence and have begun police post-incident procedures.
“Our investigation is at a very early stage.”
