But “it wasn’t the puppies that brought us back together,” Lal says. “It was spending time together, talking, being vulnerable with each other.” A life built around travel, Riglin says, “can sometimes keep things superficial.” In Bali, their relationship deepened. By early June, the puppies had been adopted, and they were a couple again.
This time, Riglin felt a sense of urgency. “I was like, we’re together again,” he says. “Let’s get this train moving.” On Aug. 31, at the Burning Man festival, he proposed. “That moment felt like an eternity,” Lal says.
Lal and Riglin were married by Universal Life Church pastor William Concoff at their West Hollywood home on May 22. Only their friend Masha Maltsava attended the ceremony, while family members watched on Zoom.
The couple exchanged vows on June 17 in front of 85 guests at Villa Balbiano, a resort on Lake Como in Italy, in an outdoor ceremony officiated by de los Rios.

Paying tribute to her Central European heritage, Lal wore a custom taffeta wedding dress from Warsaw-based Ukrainian designer Mila Nova. The dress took 12 artisans 350 hours to make and weighed 30 pounds. The designer named the dress “Her Majesty Queen Aggie.” Ryglin wore a black Zegna tuxedo.
During the ceremony, beneath a handmade tree reminiscent of a magical fairytale, the couple read their handwritten vows: “If you’re willing to travel the world, have kids, raise a family, jump out of planes, feed your inner child, buy dream homes all over the world and give back to your communities, then I want to be your wife,” Lal said.
