6:30 PDT: U23 Men’s Start
The first XCO race of the weekend saw an already difficult course get even more difficult as rain began to fall. Riley Amos led the way on the starting loop which ran on the same track as the XCC course.
6:32 PDT: Bjorn Riley takes to singletrack
Bjorn Riley took control of the race on the first section of singletrack, but a massive collision mid-race caused havoc before the riders had even begun their first full lap.
6:33 PDT: Wild race in the Roots & Rolls section
Steep, loose roots and rolly sections have caused havoc on the first lap with most riders struggling to find grip. Conditions mean there will be 5 laps instead of the planned 6.
6:36 PDT: Riley Amos takes the lead
Riley Amos is leading Bjorn Riley and Rens Teunissen van Manen early in the first lap. It’s going to be very difficult to get around the track in these conditions.
6:38 PDT: Bjorn Riley moves into first place
Bjorn Riley is back in the lead, with a small lead over Riley Amos and Rens Teunissen van Manen.
