The West Indies revived their fortunes by beating co-hosts USA by nine wickets to finish second in Group 2 of the T20 World Cup.
Needing a win and a better net run rate, the West Indies took the lead after the United States were bowled out for 128.
A rain-related interruption did nothing to dampen the team’s morale, with Barbados off-spinner Roston Chase taking 3-19 and pace bowler Andre Russell taking 3-31.
West Indies overcame the odds to edge past the co-hosts in just 10.5 overs with Shay Hope hitting eight sixes and four boundaries and Nicholas Pooran scoring 27 off 12 balls.

“You have to give credit to the players, we set out to achieve a goal and we did,” West Indies captain Rovman Powell said.
The United States started well, with Andries Guth restricting pace bowlers Obed McCoy and Alzarri Joseph to 12 and 15 runs respectively.
Goose had the good fortune of missing a chance from Joseph, but was caught by Hope, who hit three fours and a six to finish with 29 points.
Chase was tasked with getting America’s dangerous captain Aaron Jones out for 11 and from there the co-hosts struggled.
Hope’s aggressive play saw him reach 50 in 28 balls, including four sixes and four bounds, to the delight of the Barbadian crowd.
“It feels great doing it at home with my parents and friends watching,” Hope said.

England and South Africa put on a spectacular display on the field with a number of diving catches and incredible run-outs in their Super 8 clash at the T20 World Cup.
“This is my favourite place to play cricket and it is our destiny and goal to win the World Cup.”

The West Indies play South Africa on Monday (1.30am in the UK and Ireland), while hosts USA take on England on Sunday (3.30pm in the UK and Ireland).
