Best overall sleep gadget
Lofty Nightstand Bundle

Strong Points
The best sunrise lamp and smart clock in one
Easy to pair and great app interface
Cons
expensive
We recommend both the alarm clock and lamp in this set. They’re great separately, but even better together. The alarm clock offers nightly wind-down, two gentle wake-up stages, and several noise machine settings. The lamp allows you to mimic a sunset or sunrise in addition to a gentle sleep and wake-up.
If you’re serious about putting your money on smart gadgets, then this is the place to be: the Loftie bundle is awesome.

A sleep tracker you already own
Apple Watch Ultra 2

Strong Points
The battery lasts long enough to last all night
Apple’s native sleep tracking is sophisticated enough, but you can pay for other apps.
Cons
A little bulky for sleeping
In general, we don’t use the Apple Watch much for sleep tracking. And it’s not because it’s bad at tracking sleep; in fact, it’s pretty good. The problem has always been the battery life. If you use your Apple Watch all day, you’re going to want to charge it at night. But now we have the Apple Watch Ultra 2, which has 36 hours of battery life.
For the app we use, Apple’s native app is fine, but if you need more advanced recording features, you can pay for AutoSleep.
Best Non-Wearable Sleep Trackers
Withings Sleep Tracking Pad

Strong Points
A touchless sleep tracker
You get great stats without a premium subscription
Cons
The space would normally be used for a lamp or charger
The pad is less intrusive than other trackers: it slips under your mattress and collects a ton of information about your sleep, including your breathing patterns, how often you snore, your heart rate, and, of course, your sleep cycles. Every day, you’ll get a sleep score and an analysis of your night.
It’s also smart home ready, with Alexa connectivity allowing you to control smart lights and thermostats based on your movements, giving you more control over your sleep environment.
The best humidifier
Dyson Air Purifier Humidified + Cool PH03

Strong Points
Best purification and humidification on the market
Looks better than other humidifiers
Cons
High prices, luxurious options
Clean air isn’t necessary for a good night’s sleep, but humidity is. Sleeping with the air conditioner on full blast and a fan on leaves your bedroom dry, which isn’t the main cause of poor sleep, but it doesn’t help. Ideally, you’ll want a humidifier that keeps the humidity in your room at 40 to 50 percent, which is the optimum humidity level for you without having to immediately grab a glass of water upon waking.
As for which brand, there are cheaper humidifiers out there, but we prefer to use ours with our Dyson air purifier, so you kill two birds with one stone – it’s better quality and looks better than any humidifiers sold on Amazon.

Best earplugs for sleeping
Loop earplugs

Strong Points
Comfortable to sleep on
Securely fits in your ear
Cons
Honestly, it’s a pretty simple technique.
I’ve never needed earplugs to sleep before, but now that I live above a garage in Brooklyn, my girlfriend uses them regularly. Trucks come and go at night, waking her up. These earplugs are a lifesaver for her.
If you use them regularly, the $30 investment is a better value than paying $15 for a new set of foam earbuds every few months. They’re also a lot more comfortable than disposable foam earbuds, and they fit snugly over your ears so they won’t slip out of place and won’t affect side sleeping.
The best headphones for sleep
Acoustic Sheep Sleepphone

Strong Points
The most comfortable headphone setup we’ve found
Cons
Fleece fabric makes you sweat easily
If you want some sound while you sleep, but don’t want your partner to hear it, this headband is a great compromise. There are a lot of poor choices in the sleep headphones category. This headband is not one of them. It fits snugly around your head without restricting blood flow, and the thin speakers mean no discomfort.
The only issue was the fleece fabric – it’s fine most of the time but can make you sweat a bit, especially if you run on a hot night – you might be better off using earplugs or a white noise machine.
