Let’s take a closer look at Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris’ comments in Dublin.

He described the Oct. 7 attack by Hamas as “barbaric” and called “once again for the immediate return of all hostages to the arms of their loved ones.”
“But let me be clear: Hamas is not the Palestinian people. Today’s decision to recognize Palestine was taken to build a peaceful future.
“A two-state solution is the only way out of a generational cycle of violence, retribution, and resentment…
“We believe that the establishment of a Palestinian state will contribute to peace and reconciliation in the Middle East, just as the recognition of Irish statehood ultimately led to the establishment of a now peaceful republic.”
