British athletes have won medals at both the Para Athletics Championships and the Para Cycling Championships.
Both championships will be the final major events before the Paralympics in Paris later this year.
The Para Cycling Championships continue for three more days, with Para Athletics coming to an end this Saturday.
Paralympic GB announced its swimming team yesterday and we hope to make further announcements in the coming weeks.
World Para Athletics Championships
The World Para Athletics Championships, currently being held in Kobe, Japan, has seen Britain win a ton of medals.
Many of these athletes traveled to Japan in 2021 for the postponed Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.

Hannah Cockroft won her seventh consecutive gold medal in the 100 meters on Tuesday, May 21st.
She is now aiming for her fifth consecutive gold medal in the 800 meters later this week.

Paralympic GB champion Jonathan Bloom-Edwards won gold in the high jump.
Then, in the shot put, Sabrina Fortune not only won the gold medal, but also broke the world record, and in her next throw, she broke her own record and set a new record.

Great Britain’s Holly Arnold brought another gold medal to her team with her performance in the javelin throw. She said she was nervous beforehand, but once she left, she felt more confident.
“I had been worried for the last two days that I was going to get sick, but as soon as I hit the course I was like, ‘It’s game time, I’m ready to be a gladiator.'”

Thomas Young and Zach Shaw also won silver medals in the 100m T38 and T12 events.
cycling success
The Para-Cycling Track World Championships are currently being held in Rio, Brazil.
Only two days into the games, the British team has already won four gold medals and four silver medals.
Lizzy Jordan, who hopes to head to Paris to compete in the Paralympics later this summer, won gold in the women’s tandem time trial with pilot Danny Khan.
Archie Atkinson won gold in the men’s C4 individual pursuit.

Sophie Unwin and Jenny Hall won silver medals in the women’s tandem time trial, and Katie Toft won silver medals in the women’s 500m time trial.
There are still three days of cycling left, so we’ll have to wait and see what else this team can do.
