Tyson Fury has expressed disappointment after suffering his first career loss by split decision to Oleksandr Usyk in a fight for the undisputed world heavyweight title.
The British star’s WBC title was stripped by Usyk, who took Fury’s WBA, IBF and WBO belts after tumbling him into the ropes and sealing the victory on a standing count with scores of 115-112, 113-114, 114-. Added a title to. 113 in Saudi Arabia.
But Fury believed he had done enough to secure victory and suggested the Ukrainian had benefited from sympathy for his war-torn homeland.
“I believe I won that fight,” Fury said.
“I think he won a few rounds, but I won most of them. I think it was one of those desperate decisions in boxing.”

Promoter Frank Warren has confirmed that Fury could receive a return match with Usyk before the end of the year.
“That’s what Tyson wants. The contract says ‘immediate rematch,'” Warren said.
Usyk is now the undisputed champion in both the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions.
Asked for his immediate reaction, the Ukrainian said: “Of course. I’m ready for the rematch.”
