PUTRAJAYA: The Star, the flagship company of Star Media Group Bhd (SMG), has been recognized with the Medical Devices Authority (MDA) 2023 Excellence Award for its efforts in promoting public awareness about health devices and how they are regulated. Received the service award.
This award comes as part of MDA’s continued efforts and commitment to recognize media partners’ collaboration in raising awareness of the medical device regulatory ecosystem.
“The SMG family is honored to be recognized by the MDA and the Ministry of Health,” said SMG Chief Content Officer Datin Paduka, who accepted the newspaper category award from Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dulkefly Ahmad on behalf of the group. Esther Ng said.
“The Star and its sister platforms will continue to focus on the issues that affect people and the things they care about.
“We want to continue working with the ministry to raise issues related to national health. We both have the same goal,” she said here yesterday.
At the beginning of the event, Mr. Dzulkefly also presented the MDA’s four-year strategic plan 2024-2028, in which he urged the authority to achieve parity with other similar authorities at the international level. He filed an objection to raise the level of authorities.
“This strategic plan reflects MDA’s determination to be at the forefront of quality control, safety assurance and industry regulation, especially in our country.
“For our industry to remain at the top of the world stage, MDA must also serve as a world-class regulator, mentor, catalyst, facilitator and then advisor.
“Not only to me as the Minister and Department, but also to everyone in the industry, both local and international.
“From the smallest startup to a unicorn or one day a global giant. This is my challenge to you,” he said.
The event also recognized Bernama Radio and Bernama Television in the radio and television categories respectively, and 18 civil servants and MDA employees were also recognized for their achievements.
