Ronnie O’Sullivan says he will find ‘real positives’ from the World Championships, ‘absorb it all and move on’

Ronnie O’Sullivan viewed his World Championship quarter-final defeat as a positive, saying his cueing was “a real plus for the future”.

While it wasn’t the result O’Sullivan had hoped for, there were some positives for the 23-time Triple Crown winner.

“It was a good tournament,” O’Sullivan said in the Eurosport studio. “In this tournament, I felt like his cueing was better than in the past two years, so that will be a big plus going forward.

“It wasn’t the win I was hoping for, that happens sometimes.

“You have to absorb everything and move on to the next thing and get ready.”

After a poor season, Bingham showed his strength at the Crucible and O’Sullivan was impressed with how high he maintained his level throughout the match.

“I was surprised he played so well for so long,” O’Sullivan said.

“I saw a Jack Lisowski match and someone said he had three breaks over 50 in the entire match. It was wonderful.

“The way he looked after those barren days was impressive.”
