Tech company Samsung has snubbed Apple fans by making its new gadget compatible only with Android devices.
The Korean consumer electronics giant plans to release the Galaxy Ring later this year.

Not only is Ring compatible with Samsung Galaxy devices, it can also be paired with Google’s Android products.
However, it is not compatible with Apple products such as iPhone.
The Galaxy Ring is a “more comfortable” health tracking device that can be worn while you sleep.
Hon Pak, vice president and head of the digital health team at Samsung, said that Samsung Health has approximately 64 million monthly active users.
“Ultimately, we want to provide a device of such quality that people are willing to switch,” Park said.
The first clear images of the ring have also just been released, after fans were given a teaser in February.
The outside of the ring is metallic and the inside is black, making it look like a man’s wedding ring.
Colors are limited to three colors: gold, silver, and ceramic black.
Samsung hasn’t disclosed the price.
Inside, there are sensors that monitor your body’s health through activities such as sleep tracking.
There are currently nine sizes of rings, each with a different battery.
Park said consumers want choice, saying, “They want other forms of wearables to be available to measure their health.
“Some people want to wear a watch, some people want to wear a watch and a ring and get the best of both worlds. Some people just want more simplicity.”
According to TechRadar, the release date is expected to be in July.
However, Samsung could face stiff competition from its biggest rival.
According to recent reports, Apple is working on its own smart ring device.
The US-based company filed a patent for a “wearable electronic ring” in 2019, but little has been known about it since then.
However, a new report from South Korean media ET news suggests that Apple may be developing the Ring for release in the near future.
