Britain is in the running to host the 2029 World Championships, British Athletics chief executive Jack Buckner has said.
The event was last held in the UK in 2017 in London, with the World Indoor Championships being held in Glasgow over the weekend.
Buckner has now told BBC Sport that UK Sport and UK Athletics are carrying out a feasibility study into a bid to host the tournament in 2029.
“I hope to make another crack in 2029 and compete in the world championships,” Buckner said.
In 2029, I would like to make further progress and participate in the World Championship.
Jack Buckner, CEO of British Athletics
“We just do a great job. Everyone talks about the atmosphere at every event we’ve done.
“First of all, we need to do a feasibility study and consider what the different options are.”
Mr Buckner suggested London was a likely venue for the Games, given the success of both the 2017 Games and the 2012 Olympics.
“I can’t say for sure that it’s going to be London, but given the success we’ve had so far, London is definitely on our minds,” Buckner added.
“I think London (2017) was transformative and built on 2012 (Olympics). It was transformative in every sense of the word.”
