Riyadh Season World Masters 2024 Snooker LIVE – Ali Carter plays Ding Runhui, Mark Williams plays John Higgins

Ali plans to enjoy his day playing as one of the greats. John missed the rest – then nothing – so he started moving without a chance to win the frame, and as I was typing he missed the red.

The first player in snooker history to hit the golden ‘167 maximum break’ will be awarded a huge check of £395,000 at the Riyadh Season World Masters.

The World Snooker Tour will add a 23rd ball, titled Riyadh Season Ball, to its slot at the inaugural Saudi Arabian invitational event featuring the world’s top eight teams to be held on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Explained the rules governing this.

• At the beginning of each frame, a golden ball is placed in the center of the balk cushion on the table.
• If 147 is possible in the frame, the golden ball remains on the table. Once a player completes up to 147, they are given the chance to pot the Golden Ball and complete 167.
• If 147 becomes impossible, the golden ball is removed from the table until the start of the next frame.
• Fouls or infractions involving the Golden Ball will result in a penalty of 4 points or the ball “on” value, whichever is greater.

When you consider that the prize money for winning the World Championship is £500,000, the six-figure sum it would take to break 167 becomes a reality.
