Nicholas Pooran was caught doing the blip. It wasn’t on the field, it was on social media. West Indies cricketer who is currently famous in India. He had come to Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding celebrations.
Anant is the youngest son of Nita Ambani and Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani. Radhika is the CEO of Encore Healthcare Private Limited. She is the daughter of Viren Merchant and Shaila Merchant.
This pre-wedding celebration was attended by a large number of guests. Contains names from around the world. They all came to Reliance area of Jamnagar. Pooran, who was earlier appointed vice-captain of Lucknow Super Giants, was also a part of the team.
He wanted to share on Instagram how he enjoys Indian traditions. He wore traditional costume for the event. But he did goof off in the post. Instead of saying he “embraces” Indian culture, he typed “embarrassing.”
This typo did not go unnoticed. A fan discovered it. They couldn’t stop sharing it online. It became a riot of laughter.
“Trust me, this is intentional,” one user wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
I don’t think that’s wrong…maybe he’s saying that Indian culture, the way we dress may not suit him here, but he’s adapting and being modest while doing so. I’m going to stay,” another person wrote.
“Pooran is a proud student of Akmal English Institute,” one user wrote, referring to the “confusing” birthday wish that Pakistani cricketer Umar Akmal sent to Virat Kohli.
“Happy birthday to my brother @imVkohli, the King of India,” Akmal wrote on November 5, while also tagging Sachin Tendulkar.
“Perhaps it’s self-deprecating humor that he wants to say that he’s ashamed of Indian culture by wearing such clothes, and perhaps he wants to imply that he can’t pull it off. That’s wrong. It’s not a typo,” another user commented on Pooran’s post.
It turned out to be a typo, and Pooran quickly realized the mistake. He changed “embarrassing” to “hugging” in his post.
Pooran and Mumbai Indians
Pooran is no stranger to the Ambani family. Mumbai Indians acquired him for IPL 2017, but he did not play in any other matches. During the IPL 2018 auction, the wicketkeeper-batsman remained unsold.
However, MI and Pooran’s cooperation is not over yet. Currently, he belongs to MI Emirates and MI New York. Under his leadership, these teams won trophies in his 2023 Major League Cricket (MLC) and his 2024 International League T20 (ILT20). His batting in the final was amazing.
