Dior Beauty welcomes a new skin care expert to the U.S. market.
Sarah Akram, a Washington, D.C.-based esthetician, has been named the brand’s skin care expert and ambassador.
Akram will help create Dior’s spa protocols, work on revitalizing the spa, and become the first esthetician in the U.S. to permanently offer Dior treatments. “My approach to skin care is that I believe in an all-natural approach. That’s always been my philosophy,” Akram said. “That is also the Dior philosophy, and I have always preached consistency and the belief that less is more.”
She now has her own spa in Alexandria, Virginia, and plans to incorporate Dior treatments into her clinic. “I’ve done over 50,000 facials. Previously, I was more in the medical aesthetic field, where the treatments were invasive and a little more aggressive. .That sparked my curiosity to explore other avenues,” Akram said.
The appointment comes amid a boom in Dior Beauty’s fragrance and makeup business. The brand has had great success with its men’s fragrance Sauvage and its much-talked-about lip glow oil. Akram’s next goal is to expand its skin care line.
“I believe Dior skin care is its biggest secret. The US market doesn’t fully appreciate or understand how much science, R&D, love and energy has gone into its development.” I think so,” Akram said. “My goal is to educate consumers about how amazing and advanced these products are. These are some of the most unique and exclusive products you can find on the market.”
