Most adult subway fares have been frozen
London bus and Tube fares will be frozen until 2025.
A fare freeze imposed by the Mayor of London from Sunday means that most adult pay-as-you-go fares on London Underground and pay-as-you-go fares on buses will remain in place until 2025.
However, daily and weekly caps on the Metro, Travelcard and Riverbus fares are set to rise.
Transport for London’s (TfL) latest announcement comes as rail fares in England and Wales rise by nearly 5%.
In London, adult pay-as-you-go bus fares will be frozen at £1.75, with a daily cap of £5.25 also frozen.
Most adult pay-as-you-go fares will be frozen on the Underground, DLR, London Overground and Elizabeth lines.
However, the adult travel card and adult daily and weekly limits will increase by 4.9%.
For example, Tube’s pay-as-you-go cap in zones 1, 2 and 3 will increase by 40p to £10. Meanwhile, annual travelcards in zones 1, 2 and 3 will increase in price by £92.
There will also be changes to river bus service fares, daily, weekly and long-term travel cards, and cash fares to which JNR fares apply.

This comes as rail fares in England and Wales rise by 4.9%, with the English and Welsh Government setting a cap on regulated fare increases.
Public transport activists say passengers are being “punished” and will be angry about the fare increase.
Michael Solomon-Williams, campaign manager for the Transport Improvement Campaign, said: “At a time when we urgently need to encourage people to take the train, it’s hard to believe that people will be upset to learn that the train fares have become even more expensive.” Of course,” he said.
“We know that if trains are too expensive, people will choose to take a car or fly, so this is bad news for our personal finances, the wider economy and the environment. ”
