Downtown Laurel has never been better, and thanks to Planet Fitness, area residents are looking and feeling better.
A grand opening celebration was held Wednesday for the 12,500 square foot facility located at 125 Leontyne Price Blvd.
“We love eating in Laurel, so this is a great place for us to come to Laurel and put some of that work to work,” said Laurel Mayor Johnny McGee. “Thank you for being here. Welcome to downtown Laurel.”
There are approximately 2,500 Planet Fitness locations across the United States that members can use when traveling to those locations. Many visitors to Laurel are members of Planet Fitness facilities outside the city limits and already take advantage of local facilities during their visits to America’s “home town.”
“We have plenty of space, we have plenty of space,” said facilities manager Skyler Cunningham. “We also offer a free in-club fitness trainer who works with our members when they come to train. He’s phenomenal.”
