Erling Haaland issued a warning to Manchester City’s Premier League title rivals after scoring five goals against Luton on Tuesday night.
The striker’s signing saw Holders power through the Hatters after an eventful fifth-round clash at Kenilworth Road. Kevin De Bruyne provided four assists for the Norwegian and Mateo Kovacic scored City’s sixth goal of the night.
Haaland has been criticized in recent weeks for missing a large number of chances, particularly against Chelsea earlier this month.
But manager Josep Guardiola has warned those who criticize former Borussia Dortmund forward Haaland to “shut up”, with Tuesday’s tally having scored 22 goals in 29 appearances this season.
It has been a difficult season due to injuries, but the 23-year-old has warned those trying to deny City’s historic double that he is returning to his best form.
“We had a plan and everyone executed it perfectly,” he told ITV after the game.
“Everyone played well.
“Kevin De Bruyne is a huge player. He does what he does best. He’s a lot of fun to play with. We both know what we want from each other. . We meshed well. He’s a smart player and I like playing with him.”

City host rivals Manchester United in a big derby on Sunday as they look to respond to Liverpool’s result away at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
