One influencer took to Instagram to show what a “gym body” really looks like, and it wasn’t what people were expecting.
With 160,000 Instagram followers, Liv (also known as Liv Livin Life) is known for sharing fitness advice online. These days, she focuses on exposing the reality behind social media.
She shared a snap of her natural stomach, showing that even the fitness guru has a shapely body. In her candid post, the content creator admitted that she had been working out four times a week for two years, but her stomach wasn’t flat.

The side-by-side snaps she shared were captured for only a second of each part, and she poses and bends to look toned and sculpted. But she looks completely different when she relaxes her body and shows off that her physique from a different angle.
Liv still looks great, but her tummy looks fuller and less skinny. This goes to show that no one always looks the way they like in her social media snaps.
Sometimes people pose or use tricks to make themselves look different. That’s why you should never compare yourself to the images you see online.
Liv wrote on Instagram: “I’ve been training four times a week for the past two years and I still have flat stomach, bloating, a bulge in my lower abdomen, anxiety, and my stomach curls when I sit down.” I have stretch marks.
“I used to constantly compare myself to each person on my feed, but over time I started to see how the girls at the gym seemed like normal, normal people.
“It’s about finding love in everything, and showing off both happy, healthy bodies under different lighting for a split second. Trying to look and eating like that person you see online.” I feel guilty every time and always limit my appearance to look more like them.

She acknowledged that most people want to present themselves in the best light, but believes it’s important to keep some important things in mind. When Liv walks around, her abs don’t seem as defined and she says her muscles don’t stick out either.
Therefore, you may find yourself comparing yourself to others online. But she also knows that when she poses or tenses up, she suddenly starts to resemble other fitness influencers she meets regularly.
She wants to remind people to “step back from their body goals” and stop striving to look like something else. This is very important because she claims that this is not actually reality.
Liv added: “This is a reminder to stay away from body goals and striving to look like everyone else! That’s not real life!
“Whether you’re into fitness, don’t have abs, don’t train hard, don’t stick to a strict fitness regime, or are new to the gym, you can’t feel confident in your gym wear. No matter. Just send all the love and remember this. Scroll down.”
Since she shared the post, more than 4,600 people have liked it, and her followers were quick to comment. Her fans thanked her for being her “authentic” self and for being honest and open about her body image.
