Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s 25 per cent deal with Manchester United was confirmed on Tuesday night – and the 71-year-old hopes to take the Red Devils back to the top of world football
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has vowed to make Manchester United the best club in the world again after the investment was confirmed on Tuesday night.
Mr Ratcliffe said he would buy a 25 per cent stake in United for £1.3bn and immediately work to return the Red Devils to the top of world football.
Ratcliffe said: “Being part-owner of Manchester United is a great honor and comes with a great responsibility.” The deal is now complete and this is just the beginning of our journey to return Manchester United to the top of English, European and world football, with world-class facilities for our fans. Efforts to achieve these goals will accelerate from today. ”
United executive co-chairman Joel Glazer is confident Ratcliffe will deliver on his promise to bring Old Trafford back to its glory days. Glazer said: “I would like to welcome Sir Jim as co-owner and look forward to working closely with him and INEOS Sport to deliver a bright future for Manchester United.”

Ratcliffe also agreed to a deal that will increase his stake in United to 28.9% by the end of 2024. Mr Ratcliffe, 71, sat next to Sir Alex Ferguson at United’s home game against Tottenham and mingled with the club’s fans. to outline his plans and hear their opinions.
