Don’t listen to the doomsaying critics who slammed Reynaldo Marcus Green’s musical biopic primarily for being too respectful (if the film had any animosity towards Marley, I’m sure he was just as angry.)
Fast forward to 1976-1978, and the reggae legend, already a huge star, takes refuge in London from the political and gang violence tearing Jamaica apart and finds a new sound with the help of guitarist Junior Marvin. Follow the figure.in an all-time classic album Exodus. Kingsley Ben-Adir not only brings the necessary charisma to the lead role, but also gives a sense of the weight Marley carried on his shoulders as the “captain” to whom millions sought inspiration. Lashana Lynch is also great as his wife Rita (one of the film’s producers).
Of course, the best part is the music itself. At the screening I went to, the audience was singing along. one love, song of redemption and three little birds And we danced in the aisle. Marley was only 36 years old when she died in 1981. Imagine what a unifying force he is today, at age 79. The next best thing is to relive the joyous rebellion of his songs in this timely cinematic pageant.

Yoko Ono: Music of the Heart

When I was once introduced to Yoko Ono at a West End restaurant, I was embarrassed to say, “You broke up the Beatles!” I’m glad I didn’t. Because (a) that would have been very rude, and (b) it wasn’t even true.
This retrospective of Ono’s work is the most extensive of its kind in this country, and it covers work long before she met John Lennon, demonstrating just how important an artist she is. vividly shown. The 1950s and her 1960s were undoubtedly her most innovative periods. A Loft concert she organized in downtown Manhattan in 1961 was attended by John Cage, Max Ernst, and Marcel Duchamp.Tate Modern also performs again Add some color (refugee boat) (2016) invites visitors to write messages around the white boat. In a decade of Rishi Sunak’s insane obsession with ‘small boats’, this interactive piece feels more contemporary than ever.

Before finding his academic home in Princeton, Einstein spent three weeks in a cabin in Norfolk at the invitation of Congressman Oliver Locker-Lampson. This strange period of limbo is at the heart of Anthony Phillipson’s deftly constructed documentary.
Aidan McArdle is excellent as the scientist whose theory of relativity changed our understanding of the universe and who realized that if the Nazis were able to develop nuclear weapons, the cost to humanity would be immeasurable. In August 1939, he and Hungarian-American physicist Leo Szilard wrote a letter to President Franklin D. Roosevelt warning of the dangers (this letter is mentioned in Christopher Nolan’s novel ) oppenheimer). Alarmed, FDR established what would become the Manhattan Project.
Einstein later considered this his biggest mistake. In this incident, Werner Heisenberg’s team of German scientists had no access to the Allied research led by Oppenheimer. But what if you had? In fact, Einstein was both right and wrong. This is a classic example of Heisenberg’s own Uncertainty Principle. It was a conundrum he could never truly reconcile.

Lyrically expressed, Theroux’s thesis is that these are the years in which Blair became Orwell, that the callous young Englishman discovered the steely perspective that would make him one of the great writers of this century. is

Probably the most complete film about food since Babette. feast, Director Tran Anh Hung’s stunning depiction of a family whose kitchen is a veritable chapel, stars his former partner Benoît Magimel as the legendary gourmet Dodan Bouffant and Juliette Binoche as the cook. He will be reunited in the role of his lover Eugénie. Set around 1889, taste of things It depicts cooking as an art form, the most important element of which is love. Among those devoted to food itself and to its creative rigor and gastronomic pleasure. Majestic.
