ARGOS has reduced the price of a handy gadget that lets you avoid the tumble dryer and save cash.
The retailer is selling a hot air dryer, which shoppers are calling a “lifesaver”, for £24 less than its original price.
If you have a pile of wet laundry, it’s much cheaper to use a warm air dryer than a tumble dryer.
Plus, even though the weather is still cold, there’s no need to turn on the heating to dry your clothes.
Shoppers are going crazy over the JML Dri Buddi room heater, which has been reduced from £79 to £55.
One bargain hunter who spotted the discount shared it on deal-finding website Hot UK Deals and said: “Get £24 off JML Heated Airer, that’s a great deal!”
The post quickly received a thumbs up, meaning other shoppers also agreed it was a great price.
One person commented, “When I put my wet clothes in, they’re dry and ready to wear in 20-30 minutes!”
Another said: “This was a lifesaver when I had a small apartment.
“To dry your clothes, be careful not to overpack them or it will take longer.”
A third said: “I have this too and it’s great.
“During winter and rainy days, my clothes were difficult to dry and became stinky.”
Reviews on the Argos website are also positive.
One shopper wrote: “I bought this last month and I must say it’s great.”

Meanwhile, a fourth wrote: “Anything of value costs less than a tumble dryer.”
And a fifth commented: “I don’t know how I managed without this for so long. Absolutely amazing.”
According to the Argos website, the Dri Buddi uses a hot air motor to dry clothes, remove wrinkles and leave clothes feeling “crisp and fresh.”
The motor is also said to use up to 25% less energy than other dryers.
It is said to be able to hold up to 10 kg of clothing, or about 18 items, making it easy to store.
When opened, it measures approximately 160cm in height, approximately 70cm in width, and approximately 70cm in depth.
Argos says the airer consumes 1200W per hour and costs 35p.
The cost of using a tumble dryer varies depending on the type and model you have.
According to InTheWash, one cycle of a condenser dryer costs £1.37.
Meanwhile, a single vent dryer cycle costs £1.43.
This is the cheapest price we’ve found for this particular heating ventilator, but it’s always worth shopping around as you may be able to get a better price elsewhere.
B&Q and Robert Dyas both sell dryers for £79.99 and Currys sells them for £69.99.

How much does it cost to run a hot air fan?
The cost of operating a hot air fan is determined by a variety of factors.
You need to consider the details of the item, such as wattage, usage, and how much energy it typically uses.
However, the higher the wattage, the higher the running costs.
This cost is also based on the current Ofgem price cap, currently £1,928.
In case you don’t already know, here’s the equation you need to calculate the running cost of your device:
cost = Power (kilowatts) x time (hours) x cost of 1 kWh (pence).
Ben Galizzi, an energy expert at Uswitch.com, said when it comes to hot air fans, a 300 watt model will cost around 41p for five hours of use.
This is the amount of time it takes for a typical load to dry.
You may also consider a heated air cover. These work by trapping the heat produced by the airer, reducing the drying time of your clothes.
If you don’t want to pay for these, consider using bed sheets.
Another option to dry your clothes faster is a dehumidifier.
These work by absorbing excess moisture from the air, and while some are eclectic and therefore expensive to run, others are not.
