Taylor Swift fans around the world are outraged by what they see as Australia’s special treatment at the hands of the pop superstar.
After Swift treated fans in Melbourne to a special surprise song, a mashup of her songs ‘Getaway Car,’ ‘The Other Side of the Door,’ and ‘August.’ Teas sparked outrage on social media.
“What made her do this?” one fan exclaimed on Twitter.
“Taylor owes Australia money or something? What the heck is this?” said another.
Another post showed a tough-looking NFL player during a ticker-tape parade with the caption, “The whole world watches as Melbourne gets a getaway car x August x Behind the Door mashup.” shared a meme.
Fans attending Taylor’s first Melbourne Cricket Ground concert were also treated to a world-first announcement by the songstress that a new song called The Bolter will be featured on a special edition of The Tortured Poets Department. .
The outrage comes after one devoted fan miraculously secured tickets to Swift’s Ella Tour concert after an act of kindness by a patron who had to leave the concert early. .
In a video shared on TikTok, one of the thousands of ticketless fans waiting outside the MCG managed to get into the concert thanks to a kind Swiftie.
In the short clip, a concertgoer hands a fan a ticket, then a stunned fan is seen hugging the woman as she rushes into the venue.
According to comments, the exchange occurred near the end of the three-hour concert during the show’s final Midnight period.

The TikTok user who filmed the video wrote, “After a kind act by a guest who had to leave the concert early, a devoted fan miraculously obtained tickets to Taylor Swift’s Ellas Tour concert.” “Ta” he wrote.

With three shows scheduled for this weekend in Melbourne, thousands of fans who missed out on tickets gathered outside the MCG to sing and dance to Swift’s hits.
The international trend gave rise to the term “Taylorgating”, despite the MCG warning fans to only attend venues if they were accompanied by a ticket holder.
Ahead of the concert on February 6, the venue said there would be “no activity” and no live screening of the show at Yarra Park, reminding fans of rules against drinking alcohol and setting up tents, marquees and barbecues.
Swiftmania will then be in Sydney over the weekend, with the pop star scheduled to perform four shows from Friday 23 February to Monday 26 February.
