Rogue Fitness launched another fitness challenge on February 16, 2024. In the “Bear Walk Challenge,” participating athletes try to carry sandbags as far as possible. Male players use 200-pound sandbags and female athletes use 150-pound sandbags.

The Bear Walk Challenge officially began on February 16, 2024 at 9am EST. The deadline for submitting videos using YouTube or the Beyond the White Board (BTWB) app is February 26, 2024, two days after the start of the 2024 CrossFit Open.

Participating athletes can perform the Bear Walk Challenge wherever they wish. However, the course used must be laid out within a 25-foot (7.62-meter) course marked with two cones (or similar objects) measured and taped in 5-foot (1.52-meter increments). )” is required.
Participants “continuously walk a course around a cone (or similar object) until the sandbag is dropped.” The score is the total distance to the nearest completed 5-foot increment where both heels intersect.
In case of a tie, the athlete with the lighter weight will be ranked higher. Both current Bear Walk challenge records were scored in his 2023 edition of the challenge.

The operating standards provided by Rogue Fitness include:
The bag starts on the ground next to the participant and the participant must perform the first lift without assistance using any method of picking up the bag.
An acceptable hold position is with the sandbag placed over the entire front of the body.
- The top of the bag should be lower than your chin.
- Your thighs may not be able to support the bag during the attempt.
- The bag can only be supported with the lifter’s arms in a “bear hug” position.
The athlete’s hands and arms can be placed anywhere on or around the bag.
- Interlocking of fingers, arms, and wrists is permitted.
- Carrying the bag from below is permitted.
- You can carry the bag vertically or horizontally.
- Hitching to regain control is permitted as long as the bag remains in an approved position on the body.
