Combining equestrian themes and theatrical ballerina-like beauty motifs, the brand created the makeup and hair looks for his Fall/Winter 2024 runway show in celebration of his 15th anniversary.
Inspired by traumatic moments in his life, Joseph Altuzarra’s latest collection is an ode to personal treasures collected over time. Incorporating themes from beloved artists and memorabilia that influenced his creativity, his beautiful looks reflect ideals of individuality, playfulness, and theater. “This collection was truly a combination of personal and artistic elements,” says Altuzarra. For the beauty look, the team wanted to channel the performance aspects of getting ready and the overall experience of applying makeup. “I love the idea of putting serious effort into my appearance,” Altuzarra continues.
The makeup consists of three overall looks. Several models wore natural makeup on the runway using the cult-favorite Laura Mercier Real Flawless Weightless Perfecting Foundation and matching concealer. Next, her makeup artist delicately swiped the brand’s Caviar Tightline her eyeliner along her eyes for a timeless, defined finish.
The other two beautiful looks were more intense, because no real theatrical performance is complete without a little drama. Makeup artist Diane Kendall says, “The more dramatic looks are used to really accent the show and embrace the idea of going through different moments in life and adopting new looks over time.” “I will,” he said.
