A super-fit gym mom known for flaunting her abs on social media has revealed what she looked like before she lost weight.
Shannon Collins, 44, also known as the gym nurse with 140,000 Instagram followers, is known for sharing fitness advice online. But even though she was the healthiest she’d ever been, it took her a lot of effort to get there.
Just a few years ago, she looked like a completely different person, and recent old photos proved that. She shared photos of herself looking bigger, wearing baggy clothes, and looking much more toned than she is now.

This mom shared this post to give some reminders to those who are just starting their fitness journey. She wants them to know that it’s okay to start small and build on progress.
In addition to this, she wanted people to remember that fat loss has a lot to do with nutrition and that the scale is not the best way to measure progress.
Also, you don’t need to cut out carbs to see changes in your body. Weight lifting is also very important. Learning tips like these helped Shannon dress the way she does today. And she looks incredibly beautiful.
“This list could go on and on, so feel free to add any helpful things or lessons you’ve learned,” Shannon wrote on Instagram. “We all start somewhere and change happens overnight. It’s not a thing,” he said.
“Time passes anyway, so many people also make the most of it. In the process we learn a lot. I don’t regret anything, because… Because that’s what helped me get to where I am today.”
“I didn’t start from scratch with everything I’m doing now, and I wouldn’t recommend completely starting over.
“Start small and increase as you master other things. Don’t make things too overwhelming from the beginning.
“We want our goals to be achievable because it gives us confidence and motivates us to keep moving forward. I hope this helps someone today. It worked. If so, please share!”
Shannon also emphasized the importance of diet, saying being “healthy” doesn’t necessarily mean being in a calorie deficit. You don’t need to use supplements to see progress. Rest periods are essential for recovery.
The mother also stressed the importance of getting quality sleep as it helps achieve her “body shape goals”.
Since she shared the post, more than 2,600 people have liked it, and her followers were quick to comment. They said they thought she always offered “great advice.”
One person said, “I didn’t know that. Thank you for letting me know!” Another wrote: “Thanks for the reminder! I’m still trying.”
A third replied: “Thank you for all your encouraging words and content. I’m always amazed at how much my body lifts. I couldn’t have pushed myself without you. Thanks again!!” Ta.
Meanwhile, a fourth person commented: “I love how you say change takes years! A lot of people don’t understand at first! Thank you!”
