A man was described as “one of the nicest guys” who “didn’t have a bad bone in his body” after being shot dead in the street.
Renee Scott, from Prescot, was shot on Peel Road, Skelmersdale, at around 7.35pm on Thursday, February 8. The 33-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but died.
According to police, the suspect appears to have fled the scene on a motorcycle. The type of bicycle has not yet been confirmed, but police believe it may be an electric bicycle or a scrambler bike.

A murder investigation is currently underway and police are tracking down the culprit.
Following the news of Lenny’s death, many who knew him took to social media to pay their respects. Laura Howard described him as “one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. He was very family oriented and was all about his kids and his dog. It’s shocking.”
Macca Julie is “Heart” [broken] More than words can describe, I watched you grow from a boy to a man without a bad bone in your body.” Lauren McDougall said: “I am so sad, Lenny, for the three of you.” May he rest in peace, thinking of his children and family.”
Kirsty Murray said: “Renee, this is unbelievable! Rest in peace thinking of your baby and family.” Gavin Jackson described Lennie as “an incredibly gentle giant”.
Yesterday (Friday, February 9) Detective Chief Superintendent Pauline Stables, of Lancashire Police’s Crime Branch, said:
“We have begun a major investigation and a team of both detectives and uniformed officers and staff are working on this investigation to establish exactly what happened and to establish a motive for the shooting.” We are trying to identify and arrest the culprit.”
“While incidents like this are extremely rare in Lancashire, we have increased patrols in the area and if you have any information or concerns please do not hesitate to contact officers.”
“We are now asking for your help. After the shooting, the suspect, wearing black clothing with an orange high-visibility jacket, fled on what appeared to be an electric bicycle or a scrambler bike. If you see someone matching this description, or if you see an abandoned bike in the area, please let us know so we can provide vital information to contact us.
“If you were in the area yesterday evening and saw or heard anything suspicious at the time or in the days before the attack, please contact us, no matter how insignificant you may think it was.”
