In short, the recently renovated 4-star Melia White House, with clean, contemporary rooms, is ideally located next to Regent’s Park.

The hotel is on the corner of Regent’s Park, a 5-minute walk from Warren Street Underground Station on the Northern Line in central London (there are many regular buses in the area). Perfectly located to take the kids to London Zoo or visit exhibitions at the Wellcome Collection Museum, this hotel is also ideal if you want to escape the city streets and enjoy a walk or picnic in the park .

Originally built as an apartment complex in 1936, the hotel’s exterior features straight lines and symmetrical windows, giving it a distinct Art Deco energy. But once you walk through the front door, the lobby (where you’ll be greeted warmly by friendly door staff) feels much more like a luxury hotel. The marble floors and wood touches at the front desk are very luxurious, but depending on which part of the hotel you’re in, there’s a slightly jarring mix of vintage and ultra-modern furniture.

Overall, the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. Drinking sparkling wine in the newly renovated contemporary lounge area was great. From check-in to check-out, the staff were very attentive, courteous, and unobtrusive. There was plenty of wait staff to take breakfast orders and staff were always available to answer general questions.

bed and bath

Our Level Premium Room (a mid-priced room with a king-sized bed and city views) had a pristine, modern feel with plenty of warm wood. The eclectic vintage-meets-contemporary design scheme is complemented by whimsical artwork, which may seem off-putting in other areas of the hotel, but harmonizes in the bedrooms.

There is a small fridge and a fully stocked tea/coffee station. You can request early check-in and late check-out (standard check-out time is 12pm).

Eating and drinking

Arado Restaurant and 35 Bar and Lounge offer all-day dining and drinking options. Guests staying in the hotel’s Level Rooms have exclusive access to the Level Lounge area, which is bright and airy with light wood and Scandinavian-style furniture. Free tapas, snacks and drinks are available throughout the day. Tapas consists of a very small buffet of spring rolls, fried chicken with aioli, cheese, and charcuterie. Additionally, there is a scone station with jam and cream. It also includes self-serve sparkling white and rosé wines, as well as spirits, gin and tonics, or a glass of whiskey to make your own screwdriver.

The Level Lounge serves a buffet breakfast, and you can also dine at the Arado Restaurant and 35 Bar and Lounge. You can make your own English breakfast or enjoy fruit, yoghurt, cereal and continental options. Plus, a glass of bubbly for a champagne breakfast. We also offer freshly made smoothies. The variety of breakfast was a highlight.

Facility

The Level also features a 24-hour gym and a lounge serving tapas and drinks in the evening.

The elevator going up to the room requires using a touchpad screen, which was a little confusing at first as it was in a nearby location.

Prize: Double room rates include in-room tea and coffee and breakfast. Rooms and suites at The Level include turndown service, pillow menu, bathrobes and slippers, newspaper service, daily ironing of one garment, and daily bottled water.

Staying in one of The Level rooms gives you access to The Level Lounge, which offers unlimited complimentary pastries and soft drinks, daily breakfast, and tapas and alcoholic beverages in the evening.
