Kylie Minogue said she felt “alienated from the world” when she withdrew from headlining Glastonbury due to a breast cancer diagnosis.
Appearing on Paris Hilton’s I Am Paris podcast, the Australian singer looked back on her career from her first appearance at the Royal Albert Hall in 1996 to her latest single.
In Wednesday’s episode, Minogue spoke about her disappointment when she had to quit headlining Glasonbury in 2005.
“I was supposed to headline in 2005, but that was the year I got my breast cancer diagnosis, so I was in a completely different world,” she said.
“I remember watching Glastonbury that year and Coldplay dedicating a song to me. I was so far away on every level. I felt removed from the world, removed from my body, It felt like I was removed from the moment.”
The singer finally appeared on the Legends stage in 2019, explaining that it was “very emotional” for her.
