Zac Efron takes on a new challenge in his next role. The actor, who received rave reviews for his performance in Iron Crow, will be playing not just one, but two different characters in the upcoming film.
Deadline has announced the casting for Famous, a dark comedy based on the novel of the same name by best-selling author Blake Crouch.
The 36-year-old Baywatch alum will play “world-class loser” Lance Danquist and Hollywood actor James Jansen.
Lance is a middle-aged man with no real career who lives in an apartment above his parents’ garage and looks just like the actor James.
So he packed his bags and headed to Hollywood to see if he could make it as an actor.
The film will be directed by Righteous Gemstones director Jody Hill and produced by Emmy Rossum’s husband Sam Esmail.
Lance is a huge fan of James and has been mistaken for him dozens of times.
You also literally have nothing to lose by moving to Los Angeles and gaining fame.
Amazon’s storyline synopsis reads, “Infused with comedy, human tragedy, and suspense, the world seen through the eyes of Lancelot Blue Danquist is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.” It is written.
Efron found success playing real-life wrestler Kevin Von Erich in the wrestling family tragedy Iron Crow.
Although he received rave reviews for his performance, he admitted that there were some parts during the filming of the movie that were extremely embarrassing.
IInterview with High School Musical alum Metro has revealed how he found the wrestling ring an uncomfortable place and found himself facing some of the most embarrassing moments he had ever experienced.
Participating in such an aggressive sport was tough, but Zach revealed that he felt quite exposed in his underwear, and the awkward moments between matches were even more difficult.
“One of the uncomfortable moments I didn’t expect was when the wrestling stops, cuts, and between setups and takes, you have to just stand there in your underwear with a crowd around you. It was time. And nothing was really happening.
“It’s a different kind of feeling. I’ve never experienced anything like that before.”
Hey…where do you put your hands? On your waist? There is nothing you can do – there are people everywhere. It’s impossible to look up and find someone who doesn’t look back at you. So it was a little contrived.
However, the star eventually got used to it and admitted that she believes you have to be uncomfortable when learning something new.
Zack also admitted that meeting the physical demands of the role was difficult.
In an interview with USA Today, Zach confessed that he had no idea how real-life men were able to achieve so much success in the sport.
he said: “Once you think you’ve got the hang of it and increase your speed a few times, you’ll gain confidence.
“And then you hit one of them just an inch high and it’s like your ribs are gone. You can’t breathe for a few days.”
