Like makeup and nails, coquette hair embraces maximalism and usually consists of bold accessories. “There’s a lot of over-the-top braids and ribbons,” says Toth. Strongly influenced by the success of Barbie, pink became more popular in accessories. “Pastel colors have also been trending for a long time,” Toth says. As the coquette hair trend progresses, you may start to see a wider variety of soft, feminine colors incorporated into inspiration photos, such as lilac, baby blue, and peach.
