Broken heart and magic: Somerset House will unveil ‘Heartbreak and Magic’, a new experiential VR installation by artist and quantum physicist Dr Libby Heaney. This takes the form of a virtual reality artwork set within a physical installation, inspired by Heaney’s own personal experiences of grief and sudden loss. February 9th to 18th
Chinese New Year: Saturday is Lunar New Year/Chinese New Year, and many events will be held around London to welcome the Year of the Dragon. There will be a parade through central London on Sunday, and an event will be held at London’s Docklands Museum over the weekend. February 10th – February 11th
Rock King Club: Paddington’s Porchester Hall hosts Rock King Club, an immersive theater and dining experience for families. While enjoying a three-course meal, enjoy the interactive tournament ‘The Greatest Knight of the Year’ hosted by charismatic rival Arthur Challis. Romeo and Juliet: In what is becoming a London Valentine’s Day staple, Backyard Cinema’s Romeo and Juliet returns to Islington’s Union Chapel. Watch director Buzz Luhrmann’s 1996 film adaptation of Shakespeare’s play, with live choir music on the soundtrack, in a beautiful candlelit building. Dinosaur revolution: The Horniman Museum in Forest Hill opens a new exhibit, “The Evolution of Dinosaurs,” on Saturday. The film features five large animatronic dinosaurs that are no longer scaly, green reptiles, but come in a variety of colors, feathers, feathers, and spines, discoveries from recent decades that have changed the way we think of dinosaurs. is focused on. generation hope: Young climate change advocates, educators, and museum scientists team up at the Natural History Museum for “Generation Hope: Act for the Planet.” Today is the last day. Free talks, pop-ups and workshops will be held over his four days, all exploring the theme of the climate emergency. war art: Learn about the work of wartime graphic artist Abram Game from his daughter Naomi Game. Soldier on screen: The National Army Museum continues to show the 1917 “Soldiers on Screen” series. Released in 2019, it tells the story of two of his soldiers who take a perilous journey to deliver a message to the Western Front. Lost reels: Lost Reels is a film club dedicated to bringing forgotten, lost and unavailable films back into British cinemas, offering two screenings of 1970s British pop films. Masu. I watched the concert film Born to Boogie (1972) starring Marc Bolan and T-Rex, followed by Stardust (1974) starring David Essex, Adam Faith, Dave Edmunds, and Keith Moon. Sho. Ran after hours: Kew Gardens is open late for Orchid After Hours. Head to the Princess of Wales Conservatory for a Madagascar-themed night of food, drink, music and talks. You’ll also have a chance to see the ongoing Orchid Festival’s flower illuminations. 6pm to 10pm
Youth story: This is one for history buffs. At Southwark Cathedral, historians, storytellers and performers will tell his three-hour story of trials, triumphs and adventures, showcasing how young people have shaped history. Mozart player in London: Participate in a reenactment of a concert held in Vienna in 1783. On this occasion, Mozart put together a program of his own greatest hits and performed it live to the public. The London Mozart Players take the reins at Fairfield Hall, Croydon. 7:30pm
ABBA PARTY: Dance the night away with all things ABBA at Club de Fromage at the O2 Academy in Islington. Throughout the night, they play as many ABBA hits as possible, along with their usual mix of pop tunes, complete with singalongs, confetti cannons, and balloons. 10:30pm – 3:30am

Tea tasting: In conjunction with the current Chá, Chai, Tea exhibition, the Horniman Museum is offering complimentary tea tasting sessions. Tea curator and educator Mei Leaf casually tastes ancient tree tea brewed in the Kungfu style at the Horniman Conservatory of Music. Free (exhibition is also free), 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A symphony of sensations: Stanley Hall in South Norwood will host Symphony of the Senses: Color/Music. This is a free installation where large fabric ‘sails’ fill the venue’s society room, reflecting and mixing colors and light of your own creation. Free, 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Lunar New Year menu: Daddy Bao in Tooting Broadway is celebrating Lunar New Year with a one-day-only tasting menu inspired by traditional Chinese cuisine. Dishes include mini venison and plum bao, roast duck or mapo celery and rice, and lopako with XO sauce. 12:00pm – 8:30pm
The shoulders on which we should stand: Preeti Dhillon, historian and author of The Shoulders We Stand On, will speak about some of the issues covered in the book, namely the struggle of black and Asian people for racial equality in Britain.
