World champions New Zealand are aiming for a hat-trick of titles at the World Rugby Pacific 4 Series when it resumes in 2024.
The Black Ferns are unbeaten in the first two rounds of the tournament and will aim to extend that record in this tournament, which also includes Canada, the United States and Australia.
There is a lot at stake in the competition, which will be held from April 27 to May 25, with qualification to the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 and WXV 2024 at stake.
New Zealand and Canada have already qualified for the World Cup, and either the Wallaroos or the Americans will qualify if they finish top of the tournament.
The top three teams from this year’s tournament will also qualify for WXV 1, the second year of World Rugby’s ground-breaking women’s competition, which aims to revolutionize the women’s game.
Australia defeated France and Wales in the first tournament and will be looking to build on that record under new manager Joe Yap, a former England fly-half.
The tournament begins on April 27th in the United States with a one-shot match between both North American teams.
New Zealand will host three games from May 11 to May 25, while Australia hosts Canada and the United States in the remaining two games.
World Rugby Women’s Head of Competition Alison Hughes said: “It is great to see the Pacific Four Series return for a fourth year. It’s a competition we’re really looking forward to as it provides competition and a chance to qualify for the WXV and Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025.”
